North Rift security took center stage today as Regional Commissioner Dr. Abdi Hassan and Samburu Governor Leti Lelelit pledged to intensify the fight against bandits and cattle rustlers. At a crucial meeting in Samburu County headquarters, a spirit of collaboration emerged, paving the way for a united front against insecurity.
Dr. Abdi, echoing the government's resolve, declared, "Peace and security will return to the North Rift. We will not relent in pursuing those who steal livestock and threaten lives. If illegal firearms are not surrendered, the full force of the law awaits."
Governor Lelelit commended the recent success of security forces, highlighting the recovery of stolen goats and the arrest of three suspects. He also emphasized the county's contribution through security road construction and rehabilitation of security buildings, all geared towards bolstering public safety.
Senator Dr. Steve Lelegwe added his voice, urging residents to join hands with the deployed security personnel. "Cooperation is key," he asserted, "together we can restore lasting peace and security to our communities."
This reinforced commitment signifies a new chapter in tackling the long-standing issue of banditry in the North Rift. By prioritizing collaboration and addressing root causes, authorities aim to create a safer environment for all communities.
